Our Members
Our members come from many different cultural and religious
backgrounds. Whether we were raised in a Jewish tradition or we found
Judaism as adults, we are all equal, active, energetic members of Kol
Hadash.
Many paths led us to Kol Hadash . . .
Some of us wanted to celebrate our Jewish identity in harmony with our daily choices and lifestyles. When we connected with Jewish history and culture, the human-focused approach of Humanistic Judaism made sense to us.
Some, raised in the Reform, Conservative, Orthodox or Reconstructionist traditions, never felt these childhood experiences resonated with our adult identities or helped us to meet the challenges of modern life. We looked for and found a more relevant Judaism.
Some of us were raised as secular, cultural or Humanistic Jews and joined a like-minded community for our own families.
Some of us married Jewish partners, and with our spouses we discovered an open Jewish community that inspired us to explore the questions of our own lives.
. . . all of us found a home at Kol Hadash.
We invite you to get to know us! Find out more about our philosophy or membership in our warm and growing community.
