Our Structure
Kol Hadash is structured as an inclusive, open community. Membership on the Steering Committee, which functions like a Board of Directors, is open to all are willing to commit to serving on the committee for one full fiscal year. The other committees are open to all who want to participate, without any specific commitment. Beyond these standing committees, our members participate in a wide variety of activities at Kol Hadash, including our Book Club, the Youth Group, the Social Events Committee, our community Passover Seder, and many more.
The Steering Committee oversees the overall mission, strategic goals and objectives of the congregation.
The Bylaws Committee develops, reviews and when needed, suggests amendments to the Bylaws of the congregation.
The Community Service Committee supports and works actively with a number of local social service organizations throughout the year with specifically targeted collections and service projects.
The Development Committee develops and implements ongoing fundraising programs and events.
The Facilities Committee secures facilities for the congregation’s functions.
The Finance Committee prepares the annual operating budget for the Congregation, monitors revenues and expenditures during the year, and establishes appropriate financial policies and procedures.
The Helping Hands Committee provides assistance to members in times of emergency or family illness.
High Holiday Committee helps to organize our High Holiday services to ensure they run smoothly.
The Marketing Committee informs
the public of Kol Hadash events through press releases, advertising, our
website and other public relations efforts.
The Membership Committee liaises with prospective members, welcomes new members, and keeps in contact with existing members.
Youth Education Committee develops and implements of an integrated curriculum of Jewish education that fosters a Humanistic Jewish identity.
