"Varieties of Jewish Culture/Conclusion"

Today Jews are concentrated in a few locations—25% of the world’s Jews live in Tel Aviv or New York City, with more than 80% in Israel or North America. This was not always the case. Diverse Diasporas from Central Asia to India and Africa articulated their Jewishness through distinctive cultural creativity. Having explored Jewish culture from language to literature to art to music, what does Jewish culture mean for Humanistic Jews? Can we create new Jewish culture that is both meaningful and authentic? And how do we connect with our culture even as our ethnic experience is less intense than ever?

This is another class in Rabbi Chalom's continuing Adult Education course on Jewish Culture and Philosophy. Members are welcome to attend any or all sessions!
