"Yiddishists"
The first organized secular Jewish communities and schools were created by and for Yiddish-speaking Jews of Eastern Europe and America. From summer camps to labor unions to schools and literature, they were Jewish by who they were and the culture and language in which they lived, and they could believe or disbelieve whatever they wanted! Their example still informs our work today.
This is another class in Rabbi Chalom's continuing Adult Education course on Jewish Culture and Philosophy. Members are welcome to attend any or all sessions!
