Our new ark made its debut at our June 2011, 10th Anniversary Shabbat Service in June and has been featured at the High Holiday services and our recent Bar Mitzvahs. Kol Hadash members have been marveling at the ark, designed and built by Kol Hadash member Phil Reed. His beautiful creation was designed in consultation with Rabbi Chalom and Education Director Dawn Friedman. The intricate inlaid woodwork is undeniably beautiful, providing a fitting home for our torah, which is dressed in an equally beautiful, handmade cover by our own Beth Gilbert, a nationally renowned quilter.
