Taste of Kol Hadash: Jewish Holidays
Sunday, November 16, 2025 • 25 Cheshvan 5786
10:30 AM - 11:30 AMEveryone is welcome at Taste of Kol Hadash -- either as a 'recipe taster' or as a 'recipe maker'!
'Recipe tasters' (adults and students) will hear the background of various holiday dishes and enjoy sampling them. It's a delicious way to learn about each other’s traditions! This program is free and open to everyone, and no registration is needed to attend.
Wanted: Recipe Makers! Everyone is invited to bring a memorable family holiday recipe -- from any generation and from any culture -- to share with others! You will briefly explain your dish's origin and significance to your family while 'recipe tasters' (adults and students) enjoy a small portion of your dish. Recipes will be distributed so others have a chance to make it, too.
There will be about 10 recipe tables in total, so just a sample from each recipe will do. Your recipe should provide about 60 bite-size portions -- which is usually one batch of a recipe (a 9x13 dish is sufficient). Recipes need not be traditionally Jewish or heirloom -- just a family holiday favorite! And, you can definitely make the same dish as in past years (many of us look forward to it!).
Taste of Kol Hadash is at our Sunday School at Deerfield High School. Please park and enter through the rear/east building entrance; you will see a Kol Hadash sign on the sidewalk nearby.
Please contact our Youth Education Director, Ilana Shaffer, at youthed@KolHadash.com or 773-209-8266 with questions.
