In some ways, Hanukkah is actually a festival of darkness: it arrives near the end of a moon cycle during the longest nights of the year. Because of this timing, the nights we light lights are the longest and darkest we experience. At one time or another, we have all faced the darkness of sadness, loneliness, depression or grief. How do we make it through long nights to see the dawn?
