As vaccine distribution proceeds, we are reminded of the tremendous power of science, a universal collective human project, to improve the world. As we see the challenges our recent health care crisis has highlighted, and the suspicion with which some regard vaccines, we also understand that that there are some problems science cannot solve, and some that science itself has created.
