Over the last twenty-five years, the movement of Secular Humanistic Judaism has had to negotiate the differences between “secular Jewishness” and “Humanistic Judaism.” Some prefer community schools, others appreciate the support of congregations. What they all share is an approach to Jewish life—cultural, this-worldly, appreciating the past and creating for the future.
