The Jewish observance of Lag B’Omer is not widely observed among liberal Jews. Same with the purity and ritual rules that apply to the Torah’s priests (and their Cohen/Cahn/Katz descendants) and animal sacrifices described in this week’s Torah portion, “Emor” (Leviticus 21-24). What do we do with parts of our ancestral culture that just do not resonate today?
