Today over of half of marriages involving liberal Jews are to spouses of other religious or ethnic heritage. Jewish identity has also become attractive to people of other ethnic backgrounds, and Jewish families have adopted children from every color of the human rainbow. If “looking Jewish” doesn’t make sense any more, how does this new world of Jewish diversity affect our understanding of Jewish community and identity?
